What does it say about the incumbent when FOUR people have decided to invest their personal time and money to run a campaign against them? Yesterday a third Democratic candidate kicked off his campaign to seek the Party's nomination in August. Joseph Larkin is a Livonia lawyer, member of the Catholic Lawyers Society of Michigan (note that Thaddeus - himself Catholic - has publicly denigrated Catholic organizations in the past), hockey coach, and dedicated volunteer. The McCotter Monitor welcomes him to the race.
Already in the Democratic race are former Novi City Manager Ed Kriewall and Air Force Veteran turned Methodist Pastor Tom Spencer. There is even a Ron Paul Republican running as an Independent - Ted McAvoy. Obviously Ted doesn't appreciate McCotter's blind allegiance to the Bush/Cheney program any more than the Democratic candidates do!
The eventual winning candidate is going to need all the help he can get in the race to take down McCotter. Donations can be made to the 11th District Democratic Organization, which supports many Democratic candidates in the District, or through ActBlue to send funds to the eventual Democratic nominee chosen in the August primary.
May the best candidate win!
