More McCotter grandstanding at taxpayer expense

Look, it's not just that I disagree philosophically with Thaddeus McCotter and the Republicans - I wouldn't get that worked up about differences of opinion. I like health care for children born into poverty, he likes corporate welfare and endless war; agree to disagree. It's that, time and again, this man proves that he has NO interest in doing the Peoples' work as a real representative of his constituents. Rather, he repeatedly makes his own personal advancement and Republican Party interests a top priority. What you are about to see is an embarrassment! Please watch the following speech McCotter made last Friday on the floor of the US House of Representatives and ask yourself, "how many jobs will this bring to Michigan?"

Yesterday, Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks radio program posted a play-by-play response that does an excellent job of pointing out the stupidity and...I was looking for another word, but "stupidity" still sounds right. The next time you receive one of McCotter's glossy flyers in the mail, and it says "I work for you!" on there - ask yourself what work he was doing for you on June 20th when he took four minutes to disgrace the United States Capitol and embarrass the people of the 11th District with this partisan nonsense!

Editors seek input to interview McCotter challengers

The editors of the Observer newspapers are going to interview the two Democratic challengers to Thaddeus McCotter's seat in Congress - and they want your help!

Next Thursday, I'll be joining my editorial colleagues interviewing the two Democratic candidates for the 11th Congressional District -- Joseph Larkin and Ed Kriewall. They're vying for Thad McCotter's seat.

What questions would you ask these two Dems if you had the opportunity to talk to them one-on-one? Their responses will help us shape our endorsements.

What issues do you, dear readers, feel our candidates should address to best position themselves against Bad Thad?
